Hey there, everyone. I realize that I haven't posted at all this week, but this does not mark the end of my blog. I am taking a month's vacation away from any computers. Unfortunately, this means that I will not be playing Runescape for the next month.

Don't worry! I shall return!
Now, onto the reason for this week's absence: I've wanted to gather as much material as possible before I leave to leave you with a huge blog post full of shining features and pictures. Unfortunately, they won't be in as much detail as I wanted.
I went fly fishing in Shilo Village. That turned out much better than I expected.

Yes, fly fishing in Shilo Village is much faster (albeit less profitable) than harpooning.
Last week also brought the sudden party of my friend's 99 Firemaking party! Congratulations! The name is now the truth for him (Fm 99 Cb 3). I hosted this at my house and, due to a miscalculation, we were not able to construct a 99 in my backyard out of logs, so instead he lit the fireplace of a small room I built separate from the house and got his 99 in there!

Congratulations!
I took advantage of a break from skilling to complete a few (well, quite a few) quests that desperately needed my attention. Among these quests were the Garden of Tranquility, In Aid of the Myreque, The Darkness of Hallowvale, The Legacy of Seergaze, The Eyes of Glouphrie, Toktz Ket-Dill, Zogre Flesh Eaters, Smoking Kills, Spirit of Summer, and an attempt to get a Zombie Monkey Greegree. Unfortunately, I completely forgot everything else that I needed to do to obtain said Greegree and failed dramatically, nearly succumbing to poison but teleporting and banking my items just in time.
This weekend also brought to me a great achievement. Behold! The magical elite total level:
Huzzah!
In the midst of this huge boost in Total levels, I gained many important levels:
Summoning 33
Farming 39
Fishing 63
Cooking 61
Strength 73
Hitpoints 72
Attack 72
Combat 93 (3 Combat levels gained!!!)
Agility level 59
Thieving level 55
Smithing 51 (more on that later)
Crafting 52
Mining 55
Slayer 48
Runecrafting 42
Ranged 62
Prayer 52
Firemaking 64
That's 19/26 skills advanced! (Including combat and total level)

Now, about pvp:
I attempted to try out doing pvp, and after being backstabbed by a certain person, a friend and I took turns killing eachother. My drops totalled 1 Saradomin icon, 20 onyx bolts, 26k, and a fire battlestaff, totalling 300k. Not exactly a motherlode (catch that reference?) but a good start. I've also adopted a fellow blogger's strategy of training smithing at the same time as gaining ep by making cannon balls. This has turned out pretty good so far, considering none of my "neighbors" have been out of my attack range (105+) and those who could attack me were friendly enough to not even touch me and even asked me to help out with 26k tricks and payed me heftily to do so. Not bad, Tim.

Yes, I wear that everywhere. Even when stealing ideas.
You've been a great audience! See you in exactly one month and 3 days!

Stuff I've gained this week: Pfft, look above

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Today was a day that focused mainly on fishing. I was interrupted, at one point, by my friend saying that he was about to get 70 magic. I gasped, realizing this was the friend whom I had promised to beat to 70 magic! I banked my harpoon, teleported to Varrock, and bought 300 nature runes. I then proceeded to high alch Tuna (not profitable) and managed to beat him to level 70 with 25k experience to spare.

I fished swordfish and tuna at first, gaining levels until 60.

Me fishing and cooking until level 60 in both

At that point, I began fishing for lobsters, getting two inventories then being fed up. I went, cooked the fish I caught at that point, and left fishing to keep my friend company while he gained EP in PvP world 86. We sat there for a few minutes, and soon enough, 2 ancient mages/dragon dagger/AGS wielding pkers discovered our secret location, attacking my friend (I was too low a level! Ha!). I ran to the bank, helpless against these deviants, while they attempted to massacre him. On Clan chat, I repeatedly called him, but to no avail. My fears of his death were nearly certain, until he dashed into the bank! Those fiends had taken out their god sword, and hit him, without prayer or armor, for a six on the special attack! He was saved by sheer luck! Alas, there is a Guthix!
Anywho, after this, I decided to see how evil runescape players are. I clad myself in a rune platebody, rune legs, and a dragon 2h, and decided to see if I could run from Ardougne until Falador. I rested in the Ardougne north bank, and dashed out. I made it past the gates without incident and arrived in Camelot bank. I rested there, and nearly saved my own life. As I ran out, I noticed, looking on the mini map, someone was running after me! I forgot to click ahead, and was hit once by their crossbow. I ran, and ran, and noticed they had run out of energy before me! Thank you, Jagex, for making 58 agility useful! Anywho, I made it to Falador, holed up in the bar next door, gained no EP due to my lack of carrying 76K+, and left. I am going to go fish some more now. Until next time!

P.S. My friend's 99 firemaking party is STILL ON. Be at my house, in Yanille, on world 99, at 5:00 PM Central on Thursday, June 18th.

GE News:
Verac Armor Sets are rising. This means buy. I shall notify when they drop.
Abyssal Whip is now 1.9M

What I achieved today: 60 fishing, 60 cooking, 70 magic, absolutely no EP.

Today I started out in the morning by going evil tree hunting with my friend. We found 2 magic trees, but, unfortunately, neither of us had the woodcutting level required to cut down any such tree. Our final attempt was in isolated world 148 to find a tree. At first we were led to believe it was in the wilderness, but we ran until we found roots, and discovered an evil yew tree! We cut it down, and at around 65% health left, I received a random event to the beekeeper! After taking a record 6 seconds to complete it, I returned to the tree and got 100% just in time to see the tree fall. I received a willow seed, a loop key half, and 15 yew logs. Not that impressive, but I also received 5k woodcutting experience, and took advantage of my newly purchased Dragon Hatchet to top off the level with 15k more experience, reaching level 69 woodcutting!

Me and a fellow 100% person using our 22 minutes of magical banking

After this conquest, I decided it was time for bed (at nearly 3:00 AM) and logged off. I logged back on at around 3:00 PM (after a painful toe surgery) to help my friend, Sacks, discover the bonuses of membership at my house, where I presented him with an early birthday present of 3 months of Runescape membership. I helped him start off the Lost City (for he was anxious to wield a dragon long) and we parted ways for the evening.
Later in the evening, after a nice dinner of chicken and rice, I continued on with Runescape, selling the Dragon Hatchet. I power trained on my house after gaining the honor of hosting my friend's 99 Fire making party, to which all blog readers are currently invited: at World 99, at 5:00 P.M central, Thursday June 18th, we will be celebrating his great achievement. I completely redecorated the house and set up the "shack" where he will be lighting a fireplace to get his final experience and get his 99 in Fire making(bring a Camelot teleport to see him actually get the cape). Pictures of the party will be posted afterwards.
{Edit= I forgot to post what city my house is in, Yanille is the place!}
After spending nearly 300k making the house a tad better, I headed to Varrock to move my house to Yanille, for easier bank access. In Yanille, I realized I had *never* been to the Mage's Guild! I ran right along up to the teleportation room, and randomly selected a portal. I ended up in the Wizard's Tower, and, as I walked out, stopped by the circus to train.

Tightrope Back-flips and Magic and Range, Oh my!
I didn't win any more Ringmaster Costume parts...

In the end, today wasn't *extremely* productive.

GE Prices that make me happy:
Abyssal Whip: +63k!!! SELL WITHIN 2 DAYS, THE CRASH IS IMMINENT!!!

What I achieved today: 69 Woodcutting, 24 Summoning, Spending of 700k on house, 50 Construction

Today in the early hours of the morning, after all of my tablets sold, I decided to buy myself a whip. This whip I bought at 1.617M. I decided after about an hour of use it would be nice to actually have some money in the bank just in case I needed other things, so I sold the whip back. I also test drove a Dharok Great Axe, which I'll discuss in my "Weapon Test" section, bought a Ring of Stone to amuse myself, and tried to buy Dharok's platebody and legs. I say "tried" because I failed dramatically.
Afterwards, I decided to go to the Tzhaar city area (which is, by the way, a great place to train). I had the good fortune of having one of the lvl.149 monsters drop me an Obsidian Maul (134K). After this, I decided to return the Great Axe and sell off the Ring of Stone, as well as cancel my orders on the platebody and legs.
Today I woke up at around 12:00 and went to the marketplace to find that the whip has risen to a dramatic 1.643M!!! This means that it will surpass my prediction. Sell at 1.660, which should be tomorrow's price. After this, it will be very, very, VERY hard to sell, until its price drops.
Anyways, I went on to complete 1k more tablets. I bought myself another whip and went off to Pest Control. I trained there for a while, and borrowed a Saradomin Sword (the fastest 2-handed sword in the game with an incredible special).

Here's a nice shot of me wielding it
After a few rounds of Pest Control, I decided to try my cards at Slayer. I dug my Enchanted Gem out of the bank and found that my current assignment contained the massacre of 74 Ice Giants. Always the humanitarian, I set aside my whip in preference of the newly acquired Saradomin Sword to give them all swift deaths. I landed a number of shots in the 20's, and got to show off the special to other players. I gained 2 slayer levels and befriended a person there, who actually got in the way of one of my screenshots of a special attack.

My new friend in the way of my 34 hit with the special (Potential of up to 45 on my part)
During the Ice Giant battles, I picked up a total of 40 gold charms (great place to gather them and/or train) while my friend picked up 68. We decided to go to train summoning together. I ran off to Vannaka, my slayer master as he went to get some more shards. We met up in Tavelrey, and I gained 3 slayer levels and finally hit combat level 90. I'm planning on selling my whip, picking up a dragon woodcutting axe, and hitting the yew trees until I make a few more hundred thousand gp.

Weapon Test Drives:
Dharok's Great Axe: This was really fun to test. I've used one plenty of times before, but this time I did it for the purposes of the blog. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. I hit pretty high, but not very often. If you are planning on using this correctly, either have the full set or 80+ attack. Some of you may be wondering how I "borrowed" it. It's simple, really. Buy one, use it, repair it (cost me 3800 from 98%, less on a POH armor stand) and sell it back. It's not easy to buy nor sell, but the order comes through for a buy in around 5-10 minutes, and it's best to sleep on the sale.
Saradomin Sword: I really had fun with this weapon. I borrowed it for 8 hours from someone who was willing to part with it for 39K (thank you!). All around, I prefer it over all weapons I've used so far. It hits accurate and hard. Its special consists of a double hit: A standard melee and a magic attack that hits up to 18 (regardless of level), and takes a full charge bar.

Action poses with the sword

GE Prices that make me happy:

Law runes: -3 gp
Abyssal Whip: +32k (careful investing in this one, risky)

Gained today: 500k, 22 summoning, 40 slayer, and 90 combat

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Hey everyone who is reading this (which is probably just my friend who is also a blogger.) I don't want to make this a first post that's all annoying and introductory, so I'll get straight to the fun stuff.

Today I started out with 1.075M, which I had raked in the night before (my first legitimate Million I earned!). This morning, I bought 2k law runes, 2k fire runes, and 2k soft clay pieces, and proceeded to go straight to my house, where I spent most of the day making tablets. I gained one Magic level in the process! (70k magic exp in total earned). Whew. I sold all 2000 tablets for 1.6 million. I think I'm going to buy a whip, lend it out at night while I am making tablets, and sell it when its price rises more.

While waiting for my money to come in, I decided to go help to finish off an Evil Willow Tree. I got nearly nothing, except a willow seed. Oh well, I'll plant that somewhere...

I expanded upon my house a bit, and *attempted* to help a friend out with his house. Unfortunately, Jagex has made the assist option useless with construction. He wanted to make a study in his house, so I figured I'd assist. Once we figured out how to stay in assist mode while he was inside, I waited outside of the housing portal for him to build. It said I was "too far away" so it failed.

Not much else happened today.

GE prices that make me happy:
Varrock Tablets : +4 gp
Law Runes : -1 gp
Abyssal Whip : Rising slowly through the month, 21.4K today, a whopping 15% over the past 30 days.

Item to invest in:
Abyssal Whip is a must if you have the cash to buy at least 5 of them. They are rising steadily over this month. Sell this at 1.65M (current price 1.618M)

Risky investments:
RED Fremennik Cloak : This item has fluctuated rapidly over the past month. It has dropped from the 440's to the 230's. They are skyrocketing once again (26.8% this week!!!). Buy a few (20-100 depending on your cash flow). Sell them at 450.

Recommendations:
Planning on investing on a Dragon Hatchet? First, consider this: What is your Woodcutting level? Above 60? How much money do you have? Above 2M in cash? If so, I'd wait a little. Prices are dropping. In 3 days, they'll be at peak low price. Buy, buy buy! They'll slowly rise in price again in around 4 days, so if you don't like it, you might even make a few gp by the end of the week.

Achieved today: 1.6M, 70k Magic Exp, 69 Magic, the beginning of this blog
